The reliability inspection of water vapor from WRF utilized for InSAR atmospheric correction in different areas

2017
The Water Vapor simulated from the Weather Research&Forecast Model (WRF-WV) has been utilized for InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) atmospheric correction in recent years, but its reliability in terms of accuracy of the water vapor itself and application in InSAR process are controversial. Therefore this paper inspected it by comparing WRF-WV with Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) products with higher resolution. Our results demonstrate that are WRF-WV are mostly consistent with those of MERIS, with RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) 0.3751 and 0.2126, respectively. Then its reliability of application is carefully examined in InSAR process using ASAR data in Bam non-deforming area and the results indicate that the mean LOS displacement decreased from 1.634 mm to 0.819mm, with standard deviation declining to 5.788mm from 7.17mm.
