Unity power factor compensation for pulse burst modulated loads

This paper explains the possible use of large energy storage systems for cancellation of harmonics generated by pulse-burst modulated (PBM) loads. It is proposed to adjust the amplitude of the compensated current in function of the average energy stored in the compensator.
