ChordEdge: design of chord ring and SDN based edge infrastructure management system: poster

Complementing cloud computing, edge computing can provide better services for many IoT applications that have increasing user demands of bandwidth efficiency and response time. However, management of edge infrastructure, which works as the edge computing system's foundation and hardware supplier, faces many challenges including edge device heterogeneity and node mobility. To address these challenges, we propose ChordEdge, a two-layer chord ring and SDN based edge infrastructure management system. By leveraging the benefits of both Chord and SDN, ChordEdge can quickly locate appropriate edge nodes to match the programs' resource demands in a flexible and secure way.
