2020
The paper presents the importance of mathematics and its relation to improving innovation andtechnological advancement in developing countries. The rapid rise in technology, together with the laborforce, is practically changing, especially in developing countries where the demand for innovative localsolutions to indigenous problems, is now being promoted and encouraged through research. This requiresadvanced knowledge in scientific courses, most especially mathematics. Furthermore, in acquiring newskills or transitioning between professions, different skills are needed where mathematical modelling of theproblem can help in trying to make sense of situations. The study shows that there exists a relationship between mathematical performance, training environment aswell as the quality of teaching, which affects student's progress. This will further help in developing a morerobust framework to help students embrace mathematics analysis as well as themselves with the necessaryscientific numerical skillset essential for innovation and development
