Study on the influence of lubricants on the interface partial discharge of Silicon rubber/epoxy

2021
In this paper, the impact of lubricants coating on interfacial partial discharge characteristics of epoxy resin/silicone rubber was studied under different interface roughness. The results showed that the interfacial roughness of epoxy/silicone rubber, partial discharge inception voltage(IV) and extinction voltage (EV) remains the same, and silicone coating had little effect on it. The partial discharge quantity Q is greatly affected by the interface roughness. In the case of no silicone grease coating, the discharge quantity Q decreases with the decrease of roughness, while in the case of silicone grease coating, the discharge quantity Q increases with the decrease of roughness. The analysis suggests that the reason for the above phenomenon may be the existence of interface charge. The higher the trap depth at the interface, the longer the charge retention time and the greater the influence on PD. The influence mechanism of Interface charge on partial discharge is still unclear and further experimental study is needed.
