Greetings from ICMMT 2012 General and Executive Chairs [includes Message from the Technical Program Chairs]

The 2012 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technologies (ICMMT2012) is the eighth of a consecutive series initiated in 1998 to be held in China every other year. ICMMT2012 will provide a broader forum for worldwide scientists and engineers of varied backgrounds to exchange information and share research results to discuss collaborations in the fields of microwave, millimeter wave and even to the far infrared and optical waves. The conference is also a platform for the new faces to become known and for the previous attendees to refresh their friendships. A large-scale exhibition of research achievements and commercial products related to the conference topics, the 2012 Microwave Wireless Industry Exhibition will be held concurrently. A high number of 666 papers were submitted to ICMMT2012 from 16 countries and regions. Aroud 60 TPC members reviewed the papers for their technical merits and the interests to the microwave and millimeter wave community. Finally, a total number of 608 papers were accepted for presentation in ICMMT2012. We have arranged 30 oral sessions and 4 poster sessions from May 6 to May 8 to present the papers. In this large event on microwave and millimeter waves, we have invited 3 Keynote Speakers from research institute and universities. Besides the regular papers, a high number of 242 student papers were received to take part in the student-paper competition. After the peer review by the TPC members, 20 papers were selected to the final list for the three best student papers.
