Abstract The differential evolution (DE) algorithm was deployed to calibrate microparameters of the DEM cohesive granular material. 4 macroparameters, namely, uniaxial compressive strength, direct tensile strength, Young’s modulus and Poisson’s ratio, can be calibrated to high accuracy.
