20.4: Moiré Pattern and Image Crosstalk Reduction in 3D Mobile Display

2006
A novel micro-grooved structure of lightguide and a sequential driving scheme of light sources are proposed to improve image quality of 3D time-multiplexed mobile display. The distribution of micro-grooves is modified to suppress the moire pattern induced by color filter and also achieve directionality and uniformity of greater than 75%. In addition, the driving scheme of lighting up the LEDs in sequence can efficiently reduce the image crosstalk when refreshing images.
