Discussion on Key Technologies and Developing Mode of Mobile GIS

With the development of the mobile communication technology,wireless Internet technologies and various mobile terminal technology and universal application of geo-spatial information in all walks of life,the traditional GIS(Geographic Information System)is gradually moving to the mobile GIS,LBS(Location Based Service) and MLS(Mobile Location Service)has become the major application of mobile GIS.This paper introduces in detail the concept and architecture of mobile GIS,as well as the difference with the traditional GIS,discusses in detail the key technologies of mobile GIS,including embedded technology,the wireless network technology,geographical application server technology,geo-spatial database technology and the three developing mode of mobile GIS system.In the end,the paper deals with the major application range of mobile GIS,some problems worthy of further attention in this field are also discussed.
