Development of reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) method for detection of two viruses and chrysanthemum stunt viroid

2005
We developed a reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) method to detect two viruses: Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) and Chrysanthemum virus B (CVB), and Chrysanthemum stunt viroid (CSVd). We designed the LAMP primers specific for the coat protein genes of CMV and CVB, and CSVd genomic RNA. The sensitivity of RT-LAMP was as high as the sensitivity of RT-PCR for detection of CSVd, and was higher than the sensitivity of RT-PCR for detection of CMV and CVB.
