Ferrocement - construction material for urban housing

Uncontrolled urbanization causes land problems, inadequate services, poverty, environmental deterioration, housing shortage and other irreversible development. Housing shortage is one of the most critical problems in uncontrolled urbanization. Housing shortage also reflects the problems of poverty and population in the country. To generate radical increase in housing volume, new methods should be developed, new materials and new approaches should be devised to solve the housing problem. Prefabrication is one of the solutions. Ferrocement is a material suitable for prefabrication and is adaptable for mass production in factory and on-site fabrication.
