Future Research Directions

The first and most straightforward potential extension of the research presented in the book is to continue adapting established controller synthesis problems for patterned systems using the geometric approach. Some possibilities include the restricted regulator problem with internal stability and non-interaction problems. Optimal control is another important problem that needs to be addressed for general patterned systems, although the geometric approach may not be the most appropriate in that case.
