EVALUATION FOR AHS ARCHITECTURE: DEVELOPMENT OF TRAFFIC SIMULATOR

In order to evaluate the effectiveness of Advanced cruise-assist Highway System (AHS), traffic simulator Eva (Evaluation System for AHS Architecture) was developed by AHSRA under a contract with the Ministry of Construction. In this paper, the notable capabilities of Eva are summarized as follows: (1) evaluates the effectiveness of AHS architectures, which consist of control strategies, AHS installations, and AHS infrastructure specifications; (2) quantitatively evaluates traffic safety as well as efficiency; and (3) simulates AHS behavior under a wide range of traffic situations.
