Measurements with gamma back-scatter gauge with restricted scattering angle

Abstract Experimental tests have been made which demonstrate that, by restricting the scattering angle (φ) to less than 1 2 π in a gamma back-scatter gauge, the soil-type effect is very much reduced. This is in accordance with the theory outlined in an earlier communication 1 ).
