Caracterización de centros genéticos de ganado Brahman adscritos a programas cooperativos de mejoramiento animal en Venezuela

To carry out an structural characterization of Brahman cattle genetic centers (GC) in Venezuela, there were surveyed 15 GC participating in cooperative programs of animal breeding for this breed, located in Barinas (9), Falcon (2), Guarico (3), and Portuguesa (1) states. It was collected and organized information according to previously established components (general management, herd structures and workforce, facilities and machinery, soil and forage, breeding program and product quality, reproduction, nutrition, health and production and marketing, among others) and selected variables with the lowest correlation to be systematized through principal component analysis and ascending hierarchical classification. The results showed that 79.97% of the variability between GC was resumed into five main components
