A new 2D Co 5 -cluster based MOF: Crystal structure, magnetic properties and electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction

Abstract A new 2D MOF with unique [Co 5 (μ 3 -OH) 2 ] 8+ subunit, [Co 5 (μ 3 -OH) 2 (bcpt) 4 (bib) 2 ] (1) (H 2 bcpt = 3,5-bis(3′-carboxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazole, bib = 1,4-bis(1-imidazoly)benzene) is prepared, which not only shows weak antiferromagnetic interaction between the adjacent Co(II) ion, but also exhibits efficient electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction by the integration with graphene (Gr).
