Report on selection and breeding of the new rice variety "Jinongda 27".

Jinongda 27,a new rice variety,was bred through crosses between Ji 86-11(♀) and Jinongda 3(♂) using pedigree technique.The mean yield of Jinongda 23 was 8 497.5 kg/hm2 in 2 years′ regional yield test.Its yield increased by 4.7% compared with the contrast variety.The mean yield of Jinongda 23 was 8 764.5 kg/hm2 in 1 year′s productive trial.Its yield increased by 9.0% compared with the contrast variety.Jinongda 27 has been proved and released to the farmers by Jilin Evaluation Committee of Crop Variety in January 2008. The main characteristics of this variety are of high yield and resistance to disease and good quality.It can be planted in middle mature region and middle-early mature region of Jilin province,especially,it is suitable for being planted in Changchun,Jilin,Tonghua and Baicheng areas.
