This paper investigates the Electromagnetic (EM) radiated emissions in multilayer Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) with respect to the decoupling and intrinsic board capacitances of power distribution. Extensive measurements are performed and a simplified mathematical model is developed to estimate these emissions. The problem of the AI-noise is also addressed and is presented in a companion paper [I].
