Smart engineering training for BRICS countries: problems and first steps

The paper describes the problem of application of methods of smart engineering training (student- and practice-oriented methods of engineering education with the aid of processes of digital transformation) in a contemporary world-class research university, one of the top BRICS countries universities. Compliance of new approaches and methods with the CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate) international and Russian federal national educational standards is discussed. Examples on results of application of new methods of engineering education of bachelors in National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) are given.
