A method of manufacturing a ball joint

A method of manufacturing a ball joint is provided, comprising: a mounting step (17) for mounting of the ball joint (J) and a heating step (18) for subsequently heating the ball joint (J) in order to soften a bearing seat (4), in which heating step (18), an induction heating coil (26, 31) is arranged such that it the ball joint is surrounded by a housing (5) (J), wherein the housing (5) by energizing the induction heating coil (26, 31) is heated, whereby the bearing seat (4) is heated by the heat conduction from an inner peripheral surface of the housing (5) to the bearing seat (4) and softened. Therefore, it is possible to provide a method for manufacturing a ball joint which makes it possible to carry out a heating step within a relatively small space on an assembly line for a ball joint, which is free from restrictions on the material of the bearing seat made of a thermoplastic resin / resin and which allows the execution of a power-efficient electric heating.
