Microstructure optimization of low-carbon steel using differential speed rolling deformation followed by annealing

2020
Abstract In the present work, microstructure optimization strategy driven by differential speed rolling (DSR) deformation followed by annealing was used to enhance strength and ductility of low-carbon steel (LCS). In this regard, LCS samples were deformed by DSR at a roll-speed ratio and total thickness reduction of 4:1 and 75%, respectively, and the DSR-deformed samples were then annealed at various conditions. The results showed that the sample deformed by DSR and annealed at 773 K for 6 h exhibited a combination of improved strength and good ductility.
