A simple and fast electrochemical nano-structure approach for the determination of Acid Red 52 in real samples

2020
Abstract This paper reported an innovative, simple voltammetric approach for the determination of Acid Red 52 (AR52) based on a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) modified carbon paste electrode (CPE). The nanostructured modified electrode showed remarkable sensitivities towards the oxidation peak current of AR52. The electrochemical behavior of AR52 at MWCNT/CPE was investigated by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and chronocoulometry. Analytical parameters such as selectivity, repeatability, linearity, and stability are also studied. Under optimal experimental conditions, the anodic peak current of AR52 was linear to its concentration in the range of 1.0 – 45.0 µM with a limit of detection of 30.0 nM (3σ). The practical utility of the proposed electrode was evaluated by analyzing AR52 in real samples with recoveries between 93.0% – 105.0%.
