Design and Realization of a Large S Band Distributed Solid-State Radar Transmitter

A large distributed transmitter is introduced in this paper. Several important issues in the early design are mentioned. In the process of RF chain construction, advantages and disadvantages of two kinds of main design thinking are discussed. Composing and operational principle of the transmitter are described. One of the progresses is the excellent phase consistency of the numerous PAs, which is helpful to the two-dimension ISAR imaging effect of the radar. This paper also deals with several points in the experiments and the transmitter tuning.
