The Dimensional Consistency of Equations

When you are trying to solve a problem in science or engineering you will usually begin by setting up a mathematical model of the physical system you are dealing with. That is to say, you represent physical quantities by mathematical expressions and then try to set up an equation or set of equations which describes how they are interrelated.
