Quantitative analysis of common reference EEG potential

1997
Measurement of dimensionality was applied to the characterization of EEG (electroencephalograph) reference electrodes in common average reference recording. Analysis of simulated average reference EEG was carried out. We applied results of estimated dimension to quantification and characterization of the degree of neutralism (or inactivenesss) of the common reference electrode. In addition, we investigated effects of number of electrodes and arrangement of electrode array on estimated dimension of average reference potentials, in order to correlate degree of neutralism with LEG recording array. This research Study is based on the assumption of randomness of an average reference potential and high dimensional characteristics of random process.
