Designing and Production of Low Cost Tricycle for Rural Product Transportation

This project aims to fabricate and design an effortless tricycle that can be used by rural as well as urban women for goods management and replacement of pollution-creating veh icles collecting garbage under Swacha Bharat Abhiyaan & create employment among them. Various types of analysis have been carried out followed by designing and then fabrication has been done. The tricycle fabricated also keeps in mind the concept of ergonomics so that the body ache of men and women can be reduced and thus can be driven comfortably. The tricycle has been modeled such that it can carry a load of over 5500N that is nearly 550kg less power requirement as cycle weight has been optimized. To carry the load of 5500N a strong chain has been analyzed so that chain failure does not take place and pre-detection of failure can be done before application of load. The project uses CAD and CAE software so that implications of this software help in strengthening of design and analyzing failure before production.
