A Test Approach for Superconducting Rotating Machines

2007
Superconducting rotating machines are in prototype and pre-production for power utility and high-torque applications. To date, several rotating machines have been fabricated and tested. A great deal has been learned about the steady state and transient behavior of these systems. The approach to testing superconducting machines in the context of IEEE standards is reviewed in this paper.
