Effect of carbon content on the short-term strength and plasticity of pelletized high-temperature nickel alloys

1994
Computer modeling of the mechanical properties, phase composition, and structural parameters of hightemperature nickel alloys has recently come into widespread use in their development. In our study, we examine the expediency of alloying pelletized high-temperature nickel alloys with carbon. The resulting regression curves of mechanical properties versus chemical composition were analyzed from the standpoint of the effect attained as a result of increasing the carbon content in three types of alloys, distinguished by the ratio of basic γ' forming elements: aluminum, titanium, and niobium.
