A detection probability based radio environment mapping technique for cognitive high density fixed satellite systems
2018
This paper analyses a specific scenario involving the frequency sharing between the Fixed Service (FS) and a high density application in the Fixed Satellite Service (HDFSS) in the space-to-Earth direction. To help the operation of the HDFSS, as a secondary service, in the presence FS interference, the use of a Radio Environment Map (REM) is considered. A new REM generation method, based on the detection probabilities associated with each of the cooperating SUs is proposed. It is shown to have a better performance than a REM generation method based on the binary information on the decisions made by each of the cooperating SUs.
