Subfactor Method for Computing C Factors for Continuous Cotton

ABSTRACT A system of subfactors for computing the C factor in the universal soil loss equation was proposed for cot-ton. These subfactors are multipliers that represent the effects of land use residual, incorporated residue, tillage intensity and recency, macroroughness, canopy and cover. Also shown is the need for assessing the variation of soil erodibility throughout the year because of the variation in soil water content.
