Illinois statewide electric-utility plan. Volume 1. Executive summary

1989
Under the Illinois Public Utilities Act the Department of Energy and Natural Resources is required to prepare a biennial electric-utility energy plan for the state. The plan, prepared in three volumes, assesses electricity demand and supply for three futures over the period 1989 - 2010. In addition, assessments of conservation, cogeneration, power purchases, and plant life extension are presented. Finally, the plan examines four key boundary issues: deregulation; utility bypass; corporate and financial restructuring; and acid-rain legislation implementation. Volume I summarizes the plan's findings, Volume II contains the plan's analysis and recommendations and Volume III contains a discussion of the models and methods used to prepare the plan.
