Segurança do paciente na atenção primária à saúde: estudo de métodos mistos

ABSTRACT Objective: To identify the knowledge of health professionals of a Family Health Strategy on patient safety and ancarry out educational intervention on the subject with the team. Methodology: Mixed study with data triangulation strategy. In the quantitative stage, pre and post-test was applied, taking as a reference the educational intervention. In the qualitative step, the focal group technique was used. The analysis of the quantitative data used descriptive statistics and the content analysis for qualitative data. Results: Participated in the study 17 female health professionals, with a mean age of 30.3 (± 6.8), mostly Community Health Agents (29.4%). Pre-test findings indicated that knowledge about patient safety expressed by FHS professionals was incipient. However, after the educational intervention, the increase of correct answers in the post-test was observed in most of the questions. Conclusions: The findings reveal the importance of permanent and continuous educational actions in the work process of health professionals, in order to provide reflections on emerging and essential issues for the qualification of health care and strengthening of patient safety.
