Specific heat of praseodymium palladium bronze, PrPd3S4

Abstract We report the results of the specific-heat measurements on single crystalline samples of PrPd 3 S 4 . A second-order phase transition was observed at T Q =1.5 K. The T Q shifts to higher temperatures with increasing magnetic field for B B >1.5 T. Such a re-entrant behavior of T Q in magnetic fields strongly suggests that an antiferroquadrupolar (AFQ) ordering occurs at T Q .
