Preparation of One-dimensional Au/TiO_2 by Deposition-Precipitation Method and Their Catalytic Performance

By using hydrogen titanate nanotubes as support and HAuCl4 as gold precursor,one-dimensional Au/TiO2 catalyst were prepared by deposition-precipitation method.The prepared materials were characterized with X-ray diffraction(XRD),UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectra.By using methyl orange solution as wastewater,the photocatalytic activity of Au/TiO2 was investigated under irradiation of UV light.Photodegradation experimental results of Au/TiO2 indicate that gold can enhance the photocatalytic activity of TiO2.During the photodegradation process,gold nanoparticles act as electron acceptors and prevent the recombination of photogenerated charge carriers.The photocatalytic activity of Au/TiO2 is influenced by the gold content.It is found that the activity is the highest when gold content is 1wt%.
