Reflection and propagation of the radio signal in a multilayer medium with random large-scale irregularities

Abstract In this paper we have obtained the expression for the average intensity of the signal propagating in a medium with a semi-trahsparent layer and large-scale random irregularities. The solution was obtained by.the interference integral method, and the resulting expression is representable by a double integral over sines of angles of elevation, of partial waves. As an example, we consider the case when the emitted impulse has a Gaussian form. A numeiical Study is made of the average signal intensity and, for some cases, the range of semi-transiarehcy frequencies is determined.
