Joint Optimization Scheme for Spectrum Leasing in Cognitive Radio Networks

2018
In this paper, we study the problem of spectrum leasing between the primary users (PUs) and the secondary users (SUs) in cognitive radio network. In order to transmit the SUs' own data, the SUs need to lease the PUs' spectrum and pay for it based on the price charged by the PUs. Meanwhile, the PUs also treat the SUs as relays to transmit the PUs' own data. In order to improve the spectrum efficiency of the system, we propose ajoint optimization scheme combining Stackelberg game and matching theory to solve the spectrum lease problem between the PUs and the SUs. The proposed Stackelberg game is used to find the best price charged by the PUs to the SUs and the spectrum allocation factor. Furthermore, we model the interaction between the PUs and the SUs as a marriage problem, then the stable matching between the PUs and the SUs is obtained. Simulation results show that through our proposed joint optimization scheme, the stable matching between the PUs and the SUs can be achieved, and the spectral efficiency of the system can be improved.
