Disclosable Restructuring Paper - International Road Assessment Program for Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety - P156251

2018
The objective of the International Road Assessment Program for Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety Project is to build capacity for road infrastructure safety management in selected countries and cities under the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety through the assessment and inspection of high-risk roads. In the restructuring and additional financing of the project, the PDO and scope of activities will remain same, however, an additional US dollar 0.5 million will be provided to the recipient for continuing the activities during the new implementation period of CY2019. The total project cost will be US dollar 3.7 million (original US$3.2million + additional financing US dollar 0.5 million) and there is no financial gap. This will remain as a global grant with the scope of work to include all ten cities and all five countries under the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS). The proposed activities will continue on the existing activities carried out in 2015-2018 and will include four types of International Road Assessment Program (iRAP) assessments (existing network level, pre-design/conceptual stage, design stage, and post-completion of improvement works) and three types of capacity building (training through assessments that could include both government and nongovernmental stakeholders, iRAP specification accreditation training, and general training for government agencies). City and country-specific activities are designed to be flexible to meet jurisdictional needs and build on existing capacity, thus engagement will be conducted on a case-by-case basis to establish a turn key work program for optimization of resources.
