Study on leaf isolated culture in vitro of Verbena hyhrida Quartz.

The ideal regeneration system of Verbena hybrida Quartz by leaf explants was established.In this study,the effects of plant growth regulators,dark periods and AgNO3 concentrations on shoot regeneration from leaves of verbena were investigated.The results showed that the regeneration rate of 26.8%,was obtained on the medium MS supplemented with 4.0 mg/L 6-BA and 0.15 mg/L IBA and 30 g/L sucrose.6-BA was more effective than TDZ in inducing shoot regeneration from leaves of Verbena.2 mg/L AgNO3 could increase the shoot regeneration rate to 31.3% and shorten regeneration time.5 days of dark treatment could promote shoot regeneration while charcoal inhibited shoot regeneration.
