Viscosity equation of aqueous nonelectrolyte solutions

2008
On the basis of Eyring′s model of the viscous flow of liquid,a new two-parameter viscosity model for binary and polynary aqueous non-electrolyte solution was proposed according to Rother and others′ assumption and Shealy-Sandler′s model of the excess Gibbs free energy of aqueous solution. The viscosity of polynary aqueous solution can be predicted by model parameter of binary aqueous solution based on the model. The equation was used to calculate the viscosity for 6 systems of binary aqueous solution containing 391 data for different temperatures or constitutes and 3 systems of polynary aqueous solution containing 164 data for different temperatures or constitutes. The comparison with the literature data shows that the calculation results are satisfactory with the overall average relative deviations of 1.732% and 2.977% for the binary and polynary aqueous non-electrolyte solutions respectively,a good agreement is found between the calculated and experimental data.
