Public Private Partnership Model In Healthcare Sector: Is It A Sustainable Approach?

Healthcare in India majorly involves private sector participation. Private hospitals dominate the public hospitals in terms of medical education; training; technology; diagnostics; infrastructure; finances; management and accessibility to pharmaceuticals. The present study is an attempt to assess the perception of individuals towards the PPP model in health sector. The study is a small attempt to cover the various facets of public private partnership model in health sector and how an individual perceives it. The study is limited to Madhya Pradesh. The research is empirical in nature and is based on both primary and secondary data. The primary data has been gathered from 390 respondents belong to Madhya Pradesh district with the help of questionnaire only. To analyse the data descriptive and inferential statistics has been used. The research reveals that the respondents covered in the study feels that PPP model will leads to the sustainable development in the healthcare sector. The literature gathered from the study indicates that the Public-Private Partnership model in healthcare sector focusing on both short and long-term proposals will homogenize strategic objective which is helpful in mobilizing both public and private resources to combat.
