A new (8,3)-connected anionic 3-D open-framework based on paradodecatungstate and CuII linkers

2009
Abstract The hydrothermal reaction of [H 2 W 12 O 42 ] 10− precursors and CuCl 2 in a CH 3 COOK/CH 3 COOH solution (pH 3.5) led to the isolation of a new compound, KNa 3 [Cu(H 2 O) 2 {Cu(H 2 O) 3 } 2 (H 2 W 12 O 42 )] · 16H 2 O ( 1 ). Compound 1 possesses a new anionic three-dimensional (3-D) open-framework based on the [H 2 W 12 O 42 ] 10− building blocks and Cu II linkers. This anionic 3-D framework represents the first example of a (8,3)-connected structural topology in POM-based solid materials. The magnetic behavior of 1 exhibits weak antiferromagnetic interaction.
