Electrically and Optically Active Impurities and Defects in Diamond

Diamond is distinguished from all other semiconducting materials in that practically all its properties were determined and even several types of devices produced using natural crystals. But it is the progress in growing large semiconducting diamonds and in particular the explosive increase, over the last 15 years, of the research and growth of CVD diamond films that led to a renewed interest in the use of diamond for semiconducting devices.
