Design of brushless DC Motor Position Servo Systems using Variable Structure Approach

The brushless DC motor position control systems with unknown external load disturbance is considered.Since the dynamic characteristics of such systems are very complex and highly nonlinear,a conventional linear controller design may not assume satisfactory requirements.Based on the mathematical model of BLDCM,a variable structure controller for the position servo system is developed.Experimental results show that the improved scheme has high robustness and quick response and the system has good static and dynamic performance.
