Canales de comercialización de la mora (Rubus glaucus benth) para la asociación de productores de mora de guantug cruz

The present investigation "Channels of commercialization for the Association of Producers of Andean blackberry (Rubus glaucus Benth) of Guantug Cruz" identified the socioeconomic relation of the producers and the channels of commercialization of the Andean blackberry. The modality of the research was the qualitative approach; the type of research is descriptive. The results indicate that the activities carried out in the cultivation of Andean blackberry are mostly carried out with family labor, of this 44,84% evidenced the majority participation of the female gender in the productive process and less insertion in the educational system with 34,55%. 23,10% of the producers of the Guantug Cruz Association migrate to the cities of Quito, Guaranda and Ambato to work. The main source of economic income of the members of the Association of producers comes from the commercialization of their crops. The main pests that control are Botritis sp, Oidium sp, Mildiu mites and aphids with a frequency of 15 to 20 days. The cultivated varieties are: Mora de Castilla with 85,2%, Colombian with thorns 11,5% and Colombian without thorns with 3.3%. The producers market the Andean blackberry between 2 and 3 dollars in a 58,9% per bucket of 12 pounds. The commercialization channels identified for the sale of the Andean blackberry in 91.80% are to intermediaries, 4,92% to the retail market and 3,28% to the wholesale merchant. The identified critical points condition the economy of the Andean blackberry producers. The main economic income comes from the commercialization of the products of their crops. The price of the pound of Andean blackberry fixed by the intermediary is $ 0,50 cents up to $ 1,50 dollars. The preference of the fruit by the consumer is high.
