Quality Analysis of XLPE Power Cable Rated Voltage up to 35 kV

According to the special sampling principle,50 samples that served about 1 to 14 year had been tested with structure examining and water treeing examining.The correlation among the structure parameters including contents of impurity and asymmetry,etc.,as well as water tree fore-aging of XLPE dielectric are studied and analyzed.The results of research prove that moisture,impurity and electric field are the key factors to cause water tree foreaging of XLPE dielectric and finally cause XLPE power cable to breakdown.
