Theoretical study of the synthesis of superheavy nuclei using radioactive beams

2015
The prospects for the synthesis of superheavy nuclei (SHN) using radioactive beams are evaluated quantitatively within the framework of a dinuclear system (DNS) concept. The evaporation-residue cross section (ERCS) for the hot fusion reactions are investigated systematically and compared with the recent results obtained by Loveland [Phys. Rev. C 76, 014612 (2007)]. In most cases the intensities of radioactive beams are significantly less than those of the stable beams, therefore using stable beams is predicted to be the most favorable method for producing SHN.
