The invention relates to an apparatus for producing a profile from a semi-finished product (8) of sheet metal, namely, a profile having at least two extending in its longitudinal direction and to one another in its cross-sectional plane angled legs, said apparatus comprising a predetermining the desired profile lower mold bar (6) for having full-surface supporting one of the legs and at least one roller (17) for roll forming of the shape of the strip (6) supported semi-finished product (8) to the desired profile. According to the invention an upper mold strip (7) is adapted to a forming the first leg of the desired profile part of the semi-finished product (8) fixedly between itself and the lower mold bar (6) to clamp, the mutually facing surfaces of the two moldings (6, 7) are complementary to each other and have the same shape as the first leg of the desired profile.
