First record of the Chinese burrowing-cricket Velarifictorus beybienkoi Gorochov, 1985 (Orthoptera: Gryllidae) in Korea

Abstract The Chinese burrowing-cricket Velarifictorus beybienkoi is newly found in Korea. Previously, it was only known on the east coast of China, but is now confirmed on the midwest of Korea. Compared to other Velarifictorus species in Korea, V. beybienkoi can be distinguished by shortest tegmina of both sexes and male genitalia. Redescription, figures of the species are provided to aid in identification and the male calling songs are analyzed for the first time.
