Research on high performance NdFeB sintered magnets

Abstract For further improvement of magnetic properties of NdFeB magnets, investigation on controlling a fine and uniform microstructure has been done. By improving the degree of alignment of Nd 2 Fe 14 B grains through the new isostatic pressing method using the new powders obtained under improved pulverizing conditions, we have developed a super high energy magnet having (BH) max ≥ 430 kJ/m 3 . Based on this technological advancement, we are able to fabricate high performance magnets with (BH) max ~ 384 kJ / m 3 , iHc > 876 kA/m in mass-production.
