Culture Function's Characteristic of the Folk Belief in the Qin and Han Dynasties and its Enlightenment to Current Cultural Reconstruction

Folk belief has many kinds of cultural approval and the cultural control function.The folk belief's diverse cultural approval and culture control function not only share the synchronic and diachronic characteristics.Folk belief belongs to the in-depth cultural content,therefore,it has its relative independence.At some time in the Qin and Han dynasties,its independence could lie in that the national highest god was Tai-Yi,but the Lords worshiped in different places had their own characteristics.On the one hand,this meant that folk belief was not synchronic with the national sacrificial offering;on the other hand,this also meant that the small cultural tradition including the folk belief occupied the status of both unification with and opposition to the national mainstream ideology.Specifically speaking,in the early and middle dynasty,the folk belief was relatively harmonious with the mainstream culture and the state power,yet,in the late dynasty,it was relatively in opposition to the mainstream culture and state power.Culture function of the folk belief in the Qin and Han dynasties has very important enlightenment to the current cultural reconstruction.
